Normal- The Bulldog baseball team fell 12-5 to the Golden Eagles of Tennessee Tech on Tuesday evening in Cookeville, Tennessee.
The Maroon & White fell behind early as the Golden Eagles scored three runs in the first two innings. The third inning saw both teams began to trades runs, with TTU holding a slight advantage.
By the end of the fifth, A&M tallied five runs and trailed Tech by six, at 11-5. The Golden Eagles would add their final score of the contest in the seventh inning on a error by the Bulldog infield.
Leading the Bulldogs was designated hitter Bradley Black, who hit a two-run shot in the fifth inning to bring the Maroon & White within three runs one last time. Patrick Dodson also recorded two RBIs in the contest, leading the Bulldogs with three hits in five at-bats. Starting pitcher Allen Belue (0-7) earned his seventh loss of the season. Belue gave up five runs (three earned) in three innings.
As a team the Bulldogs collected 13 hits for the 12th time this season with double digit connections at the plate.
With the loss, A&M falls to 3-36 on the year. The Bulldogs return to action this weekend when they host the Delta Devils of Mississippi Valley State University. The three-game conference action will begin on Saturday, April 27th at 1:00 p.m.
