A&M Basketball looks to return to winning ways

AAMU Women's Overall Stats

NORMAL – Head coach Semeka Randall realizes this first season would be exciting.

"It's a rollercoaster ride, there are moments as a coach the players go out and do what you instruct them to do then they are the times they look like they have forgotten what we worked on," Randall mentioned.  "We always remind everyone the importance of playing all 40 minutes.  This half of the season we shorted our practices to avoid injury which sometimes hurt or helps us.  It all depends on the day."

Over the last two years and four contests with the Lady Braves of Alcorn State the A&M women's basketball team holds a 3-1 record.

Jasmine Sanders posted her eighth contest of the season with double digit points with 18 versus SU and averages 11.6 on the year with 6.6 rebounds a game.

Brittney Strickland averages 16.6 points a game and scored 13 points versus Southern. Her sister Alyssa posted 12 points in 24 minutes of action, three assists, a pair of rebounds and a steal.
Going to "The Reservation" A&M is currently 1-5 in conference play and 3-13 overall.

Alcorn (1-5 SWAC, 3-15) is riding a two game win streak after a 52-49 victory over Alabama State. Ashtin McNicholas scored 19 points while Misha Jones produced 13 rebounds. Tierro Frost leads the team averaging 17.8 points in 18 games played.

The women will tip at 5:30 p.m.
