Baseball completes midweek series vs. Georgia State

ATLANTA – Bulldog baseball recently completed their two game series with the Panthers of Georgia State.

Unfortunately the Maroon & White would leave the Peach state with a pair of losses.

In game one Andrew Utterback continued his hitting streak with two hits in four at bats with a run batted in. Justen Folger went 2 for 3 at the plate with a run and two RBI's. Ramon Nelson, Julio Nunez and Keyonta Welch all posted a hit while Nelson, Folger and Welch all crossed the plate for the Bulldogs.

On the mound Ryan Ahrens and Dakota Smith both finished with two strikeouts.

Game two witnessed the Bulldogs crossed six runs versus the team from the ATL.

Utterback once again led the team going 4 for 5 with a run and a RBI. Julio Nunez collected three hits, two runs and a RBI. Jordan Friend had two RBI's while Welch and Brandyn Crutcher each finished with a hit.

As a team the Bulldogs finished with 10 hits for the 12^th time this season with double digit connections.

Pitcher Devin Smith accounted for four strikeouts in seven innings of work.

The Bulldogs will now travel to Mississippi for a three game series with Mississippi Valley State University. The contests are set for Saturday, March 29, at 12 and 3 p.m. and Sunday, March 29, at 1 p.m.
