NORMAL – The Bulldog baseball team will travel to Montgomery, Alabama for a three game Southwestern Athletic Conference series with the first place Hornets of Alabama State.
A&M is currently second in the Eastern Division holding a 9-5 conference mark and a 17-21 overall record.

Andrew Utterback leads the team with a .398 average with 49 hits and 33 runs batted in. Brandyn Crutcher is second on the team with a .387 average, 36 hits, and 17 RBI's.

Austin Hulsey secured the SWAC Player of the Week award helping Alabama A&M finish the week 4-1 including a three-game sweep over Jackson State on the weekend. He recorded a .409 batting average hitting 9-for-22 with three runs scored, a pair of doubles, two home runs and 12 RBI.

The Bulldogs are riding a five game league winning streak and will look to upset the first place Hornets.

State is coming off a 4-3 loss at the hands of Florida A&M. They are 28-14 overall and 16-2 in the SWAC.  Waldyvan Estrada leads the team with a .361 average while Emmanuel Marrero is hitting a .345 average in 165 at bats.

Games one and two will be played on Saturday, April 19, beginning at 1 & 4 p.m. Game three will be played on Sunday, April 20, and is set for a 1 p.m. first pitch.
