Bulldogs Drop 11-1, 6-2 Decisions at Alabama State

Box Score NORMAL— Alabama A&M fell to Alabama State 11-1 and 6-2 in the opening game of their Southwestern Athletic Conference series against the Hornets of Alabama State at the Wheeler-Watkins Baseball Complex, in Montgomery, Ala.

A&M's relief pitcher Derrick Winter was dominant, allowing just one run on three hits and walked two in four innings.

First baseman Austin Hulsey went 2-for-3 on the day and Cornelius Woods knocked in his fourth RBI for the season. Woods drove in the Bulldogs lone run with an RBI-single in the third inning, scoring Patrick Dodson.

In game two, Alabama A&M trailed 2-0, but got on the scoreboard in the top of the third inning when Patrick Dodson's was hit by the Hornets pitcher to score the RBI bringing in Justin Folger.

After ASU added four runs in the bottom fourth to take a 6-1 lead, the Bulldogs got one back in the bottom of the eighth when Hulsey scored on a wild pitch.

A&M finished with eight hits. Julio Nunez and Jordan Friend were the lone multiple hitters for the Bulldogs in the second contest.
