RUSTON – Alabama A&M gave up two runs in the eighth inning and Louisiana Tech came away with a 3-1 win over Alabama A&M Saturday afternoon at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park.
 
LA Tech led 1-0 over A&M after seven full innings of baseball, but AAMU responded in the eighth after Julio Nunez led off the inning with a double and later scored on an RBI single by Andrew Utterback to make it a 1-1 ball game.
 
AAMU brought in Lora to start the bottom of the eighth to Tech responded by scoring two runs in the bottom half of the eighth, including the game-winning run.
 
Manny Lora was charged with the loss for Alabama A&M after coming on in the bottom of the eighth and surrendering two runs on one hit and two walks. Ryan Ahrens started for the visiting Bulldogs and pitched six full innings, giving up one run on five hits and striking out four. Taylor Knight also saw time on the mound, as the right-hander pitched a scoreless seventh inning with one strikeout.
 
A&M and LA Tech will meet again on Sunday April 27, at 1 p.m. at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park.
