Gameday: Lady Bulldogs host Murray State

HUNTSVILLE -- The Lady Bulldogs are back home Friday to host Murray State. Tipoff is 6 p.m. in Elmore Gym.

A&M is off to a 3-3 start after reaching the finals of the Florida International University Thanksgiving Tournament last weekend.

The Lady Bulldogs will be off next week due to final exams. They will visit Jacksonville State on Dec. 12.

LAST TIME OUT: Kanisha Tharpe had the first double-double of the year for Alabama A&M and Nigeria Jones had her second straight double-figure scoring game but the Lady Bulldogs lost to Hartford 57-46 in the championship game of the Florida International University Thanksgiving Tournament.

ABOUT ALABAMA A&M: Freshman guard Nigeria Jones is the leading scorer with a 9.7 points-per-game average and she also leads with 3.7 assists per game. Junior center Kanisha Tharpe leads the team in rebounding at 5.8 rpg and freshman forward Alexandra Johnson is averaging 5.5 rpg.

ABOUT MURRAY STATE: The Racers are coming off a 96-68 loss Wednesday to East Tennessee State. Abria Gulledge led MSU with a season-high 19 points in the loss as she hit five 3-pointers. Ke'Shunan James tallied her third double-double of the year as she had 18 points and 10 rebounds while Brianna Crane had a career-high 13 points and career-best 10 boards.

ALABAMA A&M vs. MURRAY STATE: Murray State leads the all-time series 8-2.
