SAVANNAH, GA -- The Bulldogs will be trying to turn things around Saturday when they take on Savannah State in a doubleheader.
Blaine Milam will get the start in game one with the first pitch scheduled for noon (Central time).
The Bulldogs dropped a heart-breaker Friday when the Tigers rallied for four runs in the seventh inning to take a 6-4 win.
Carson McGregory and Zeth Malcom continue to be two of the hottest hitters in the nation as they have hit in a season-opening six straight games.
A&M has a .263 team batting average, second in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, and three Bulldogs are in the league's top 10 hitters: McGregory is tied for fifth at .391; Malcom is tied for seventh with a .375 average; and Carlton Peppers is ninth, hitting .350.
McGregory and Malcom are tied for the league lead in hits with nine and Peppers is the league leader in runs with six.
Brandon Marsonek is the SWAC leader in strikeouts with 12, which is good for 14th in the nation.
The Bulldogs and Tigers close out the series Sunday at 11 a.m. (Central).
After this weekend, the Bulldogs return home to host North Alabama on Tuesday and Tennessee-Martin on Wednesday. First pitch for both games is 2 p.m.
