SAN MARCOS, Texas -- The Bulldogs begin a five-game road swing this weekend deep in the heart of Texas and close it out in bluegrass country.
They will visit Texas State for a three-game series Friday through Sunday and then travel to Eastern Kentucky to play a pair of games Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Bulldogs return home next weekend to host Mississippi Valley State in a three-game SWAC series.
At the plate, a trio of .300 hitters help guide the A&M offense.
Zeth Malcom is just off the pace at .298 but he is tied for the league lead in home runs with three. His 26 total bases rank second in the SWAC as does his .553 slugging percentage.
Starting pitcher Blaine Milam is 2-1 with a 4.05 earned run average. His 20.1 innings is the third-most among the league's starters.
Reliever Brandon Marsonek leads the league in appearances with 10 and innings pitched with 29.1. He is second in the SWAC with 28 strikeouts.
This weekend's series is the first-ever between Texas State and the Bulldogs.
