NASHVILLE -- The Bulldogs baseball team wraps up the regular season with a pair of midweek games in the Music City.
A&M visits Lipscomb for a 6 p.m. game Tuesday and then will take on Belmont at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
The Bulldogs are tuning up for the SWAC tournament next week. The eight-team, double-elimination tournament is May 17-21 in New Orleans.
A&M is the No. 3 seed from the Eastern Division and will play the No. 2 seed from the Western Division - either Grambling or Texas Southern.
Grambling is 15-9 and in first in the West while TSU is 14-9 with a makeup game against Southern (9-14). If Texas Southern wins, they have the tiebreaker over Grambling to take first place.
Bulldog Bites
Dalton Mitchell has been hot at the plate for the Bulldogs lately. He has reached base in eight straight games, raising his batting average nearly 30 points over that span to .263.
Cornelious Woods leads A&M with a .304 batting average and .443 slugging percentage.
Carson McGregory (.295) is the team's RBI (23) and hits leader (57).
On the mound, the Bulldogs have perhaps the nation's top relief pitcher in Brandon Marsonek. The lefthander has 123 strikeouts to lead the nation. He has appeared in 36 games and has 102.1 innings pitched - also tops in the nation.
