Baseball Travels to Mississippi Valley for SWAC Showdown

ITTA BENA, Miss.-- The Bulldogs continue in Southwestern Athletic Conference play as they travel to Itta Bena, MS to take on conference opponent Mississippi Valley State.

The Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils (4-16 overall, 3-3 SWAC) are coming off a 6-5 win over Delta State while the Bulldogs (5-16, 2-4 SWAC) dropped a single game to Tennessee Tech on Wednesday, 17-0.

The Bulldogs are led by one of the hottest hitters in the conference Dalton Mitchell.

Mitchell leads the team with a .391 batting average – third in the SWAC- and a .469 slugging percentage. The senior has hit safely in 17 of 19 games this season. JT O'Reel is second on the team with a .310 batting average with 22 hits, one homerun and four RBI.

UP NEXT
The Bulldogs will return to play on March 27 when they travel to UNA for a 5 p.m. match. AAMU will then host Alcorn State for a three-game series starting Thursday, March 29.
