Bulldogs Host Alabama State for Three-Game Series

HUNTSVILLE – Alabama A&M baseball is scheduled to host Alabama State in a three-game Southwestern Athletic Conference series this weekend, beginning with a single game on Friday at 2 p.m.

Game two will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday and the series will conclude with a single game on Sunday at 1 p.m. All games will be played at Bulldog Field.

The Bulldogs (3-9, 0-3 SWAC) enter the weekend seeking their first conference win after being swept by Jackson State in the three-game series this past weekend.

Dalton Mitchell is batting a team-high .400 in eight starts this season and holds a .433 slugging percentage. Jaret Britt has started in three games on the mound and pitched a team-high 17.2 innings while maintain a 5.60 earned-run average. Clayton Warner leads AAMU's bullpen with 11.0 innings pitched a 2.45 ERA.

Alabama State comes into this weekend with an overall record of 8-4 and a SWAC record of 3-0. The Hornets swept their conference-opening series against Alcorn State over the weekend, outscoring the Braves 23-1.

Noel Cheneau leads the Hornets in hitting at .407 with a pair of doubles and a home run, while also recording four stolen bases. Joseph Estrada is hitting .357 with 15 hits and 13 runs scored, including three triples; which has him in the top five in the nation. He has also recorded 14 runs batted in and has an on-base percentage of .464.
