Bulldogs Arrive in Florida for NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round

TAMPA, Fla.--- The Bulldogs have arrived in Tampa, Florida for the NCAA Division I East Preliminary Track and Field Meet held at the University of South Florida. Due to weather that will affect South Florida this week, the NCAA has moved the schedule up for the East Preliminary Meet to ensure safety and to protect the integrity of the competition. The NCAA and the University of South Florida are continuing to monitor the weather over the coming days in Tampa to ensure the safety of all participants as well as spectators.?

The Bulldogs will begin Day 1 competition at 12:30 p.m. when the two Sophomore Bulldogs take the track. Alex Ward and Tre' Williams will be competing in the First Round of the 400 meter Hurdles which consist of six heats. Ward will be running in heat four out of lane six and Williams will be running in heat six out of lane one. The top three from each heat, plus the next six times, will qualify for the Quarterfinals.

The second event for the Bulldogs will be at 2:30 p.m. when Senior DeTorrian Green will compete in the first round of the 100 meter dash, which consist of six heats. Green will be running in heat three out of lane six. The top three from each heat plus the next six times will qualify to the Quarterfinals.

The final event for Day one will see junior DeAndre Baker at 3:30 p.m. in the Men's Long Jump first round. The men's Long Jump consist of four seeded flights worst to best and the top 12 placers from the finals to Eugene, Oregon.
