Auburn completes two-game sweep of Bulldogs

Box Score AUBURN — Garrett Wade struck out four as Auburn topped Alabama A&M 10-2 Wednesday afternoon to sweep the two-game non-conference baseball series.

While using five pitchers, Alabama A&M (0-6) kept the contest close for most of the afternoon.

Pierre Brewton and Kyle Redmond drove in a pair of runs in the top of the third inning to cut Auburn's lead to 4-2, and the Bulldogs only trailed by three heading into the seventh inning.

Auburn (4-1) pushed two runs across the plate in the bottom of the seventh, and rallied for three in the eighth to put the game away.

Alabama A&M scattered eight hits throughout the game. Redmond led the Bulldogs at the plate, finishing 2-for-4 with an RBI. Justin Lott went 2-for-3 with a walk, while Brewton, Trevor Berkmeyer, Jonathan Smith II and Daniel Tart each added a hit.

Brewton also had three stolen bases in the loss.

Wade got the win on the mound, holding Alabama A&M to three hits with four strikeouts and a walk in four innings of relief.

Alabama A&M travels to Mercer on Friday to open a three-game weekend series.
