HUNTSVILLE, AL ^__ Five Lady Bulldogs are represented on the 2019 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) women's soccer All-Conference Teams, which were released on Monday.

Maya Evans, a Houston Texas native, was voted preseason Player of the Year and first team All-SWAC after leading the conference in hitting percentage (.388), while closing out the season ranked fourth on the team in kills (272) and kills per set with 2.16. She added four assists and 32 serve aces, while collecting 0.20 serve aces per set.

Megan Evans, Jaelin Gant, Terra Brooks and Alana Cox were also voted to the first team.
 
Megan Evans totaled 120 points, including 90 kills on a season where she finished atop the conference statistics in assists per set (8.85). Gant registered 313 kills and 296 digs to earn top ten in kills, hitting percentage and points, while Brooks finished with a season total of 369 kills and 292 digs in route to being third in the conference in kills and second in points during conference play.
 
Alana Cox tallied 379 total points, including 339 kills, while also finishing top ten in the conference in kills, points and hitting percentage (2.14) during her freshman campaign.
 
Alabama A&M was picked to finish second in the SWAC with 132 points. Alabama State was picked to finish first in the conference.

The SWAC preseason all-conference teams are selected by the sports information directors and head coaches from the league's 10 member institutions.

The Lady Bulldogs open up the season in Montgomery on August 30 as they take on Florida A&M at 10 a.m. in the MEAC/SWAC Tournament.
