BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – For the second time of his career and in consecutive weeks, Alabama A&M sophomore forward
Jalen Johnson (Indianapolis, Ind.) has earned Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday, December 22.
Johnson recorded his first double-double in a Bulldog uniform in the home opening double overtime win over South Alabama 93-90 on Saturday, December 19.
The forward poured in 24 points, on 10-of-16 shooting along with 11 boards in a career-high 42 minutes of play, as he helped lead the Bulldogs to their first undefeated record in program history going into SWAC play.
Johnson and the Bulldogs will return to action on Saturday, January 2 when they host their first conference basketball game in Elmore Gymnasium.
