BILOXI, Miss. — The Alabama A&M women's bowling team secured a spot in the Southwestern Athletic Conference Championships by defeating Alabama State in the SWAC Regionals at Cypress Lakes Lanes in Biloxi, Miss.
 
The SWAC Championships are scheduled for next month in Dallas.
 
Alabama A&M played its best yet this season at the Regionals, defeating Jackson State, Southern, Texas Southern and Grambling before posting a win against Alabama State by nine pins.
 
Heading into Sunday's matches, Alabama A&M was in second place with a 6-3 record, but finished tied for third at the end of the day with a 6-6 record.
 
For Alabama A&M, high games were posted by Daphne Price (236), Brittney Edwards (226), Nariya Jackson (200) and Montaya Walton (213).
