ATLANTA, Ga. __ The Lady Bulldog bowling team wrapped up another exciting competition weekend in Atlanta for the 2nd annual TNBA/HBCU Invitational Tournament.

Alabama A&M came back with an 8th place finish out of the 16-team field, giving the team their first top 10 finish for under the three-year tenure of head coach James Moore.

The Bulldogs started Friday on a high note, winning their first 3 matches before dropping two later on in the day.

A&M picked up losses in the final frame in the first four matches of the day on Saturday, before finally getting on track the last game where each player averaged over 180 pins. Freshman Nariya Jackson led the team with a 212 pin count and topping the 900 mark at 913 in a win by almost 200 pins against Livingstone State.

The Bulldogs began Sunday in 10th place with a chance to get to 7th. After winning the first two matches against Morgan State and Fayetteville State, which included throwing seven consecutive strikes for a score of 244, A&M fell to a tough Norfolk State team, ending the weekend with the 8th place finish.

Up next for Alabama A&M bowling is postseason play, as they will head to Dallas next week from March 19-22 to the SWAC Championships at the ITRC Bowling Hall of Fame.
