BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – For the first time in his career, Alabama A&M sophomore guard
Garrett Hicks (Madison, Ala.) has earned Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday, January 26.
Hicks turned in an outstanding performance as the Bulldogs defeated Southern University, 68-58, at home on Saturday, January 23.
In 36 minutes of play, the guard scored 27 points on 10-of-17 shooting, including 7-of-11 from three, along with four rebounds and three assists on the night. The seven threes made is tied for second all-time in program history and is his second time reaching the mark this season.
Hicks and the Bulldogs are back in action this Saturday, January 30 as they travel to SWAC opponent Prairie View. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. in Prairie View, Texas.
