BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama A&M senior
Christian Bryant (Newbern, Ala.) and sophomore Myles McCoy (Albany, Ga.) completed a sweep of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors as announced by the league on Thursday, January 28.
SWAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week: Christian Bryant
Bryant led the Bulldogs field contingent in their season opener as they competed at the KMS Invitational on January 24 to kick off the 2020-21 campaign.
He would deliver a top five performance in the weight throw as he hit a distance of 15.07-meters to place 5-of-18 before coming in in the top half of the shot put. In that one he finished 15-of-30 with a mark of 11.37-meters.
SWAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week: Myles McCoy
McCoy (Albany, Ga.) posted three strong performances in his 2020-21 debut as Alabama A&M opened up at the KMS Invitational (1/24).
His best outing would be a 9-of-26 finish in the 60-meter hurdles (8.55) which he would follow up with a 21-of-41 performance in the 400-meters (53:14). McCoy would wrap up the day by helping the 4x400 relay to a 6-of-10 outing with a time of 3:30.39.
Alabama A&M is right back in action on Sunday, January 31 when they head back to the CrossPlex for the KMS Open.
