WEEEEEEERE BACK! – TO THE TUNE OF 21,000-PLUS
Homecoming 2021 brought out the Maroon and White as fans and alumni alike took advantage of the first real chance to "Return to Normal".
That would take the form of a near record 21,835 fans packing Louis Crews Stadium to see the Bulldogs take on Jackson State. That number would represent the second largest crowd in the facility's 25-year history, trailing only the 22,287 that witnessed a 33-27 victory over Southern on October 10, 1998. It surpassed the next highest total of 18,629 on hand for a 21-6 victory over rival Tuskegee on September 17, 2011.
BUS ROUTE INFO
While not as busy as Homecoming, Alabama A&M wants to make sure its fans and alumni have easy access to the stadium from where they park. To that end, fan's can find information on the three bus routes for this week's game against Florida A&M at the link below.

NOT WHAT WAS EXPECTED – JACKSON STATE 61, ALABAMA A&M 15
Alabama A&M came into the highly anticipated matchup with rival Jackson State on Homecoming with the offense in full gear, despite a 37-28 loss at Grambling the previous week.
They would take the opening kickoff and move the ball inside the Tigers' 35-yard line in the opening minutes only to see James Houston blow up a play, force a fumble, recover said fumble and take it 67 yards for a game changing touchdown.
While it happened in the first four minutes, it set the tone for the game as JSU plowed out to a 20-0 lead in the first quarter before taking a 33-7 margin to the half. From there they would march to a 61-15 victory over the final two quarters.
One of the few bright spots on the day for the Bulldogs came from junior wideout
Odieu Hilaire (Belle Glade, Fla.) as he recorded his second straight 10 catch game. On the day he would finish with 117 yards receiving and a score while graduate quarterback
Aqeel Glass (St. Louis, Mo.) went 26-of-40 for 293 yards and a pair of scores.
WATCH ME NOW (SEASON LONG EDITION)
With the majority of this spring's top performers back in the fold for Fall 2021, all eyes are on A&M. Glass headlines those in the spotlight as he has been named to the Walter Payton Award Watch List representing the top player at the Football Championship Subdivision, the Deacon Jones Watch List as the top player at an HBCU and both the Reese's Senior Bowl and College Football Performance Awards (CFPA).
He is joined by junior wide receiver
Abdul-Fatai Ibrahim (Miramar, Fla.) on the Deacon Jones and has also been named a BOXTOROW Preseason All-American and SWAC Preseason Player of the Year. Those pale in comparison, however, to being the first player selected to play in the inaugural HBCU Legacy Bowl, a new postseason All-Star game featuring the top 100 HBCU National Football League (NFL) draft eligible players.
ABOUT THE FLORIDA A&M UNIVERSITY RATTLERS
FAMU comes in as one of the best defensive teams in the SWAC, having allowed no more than seven points to the four non-Football Bowl Subdivision programs they have played – and they lost one of those.
That one would come in their opener in Miami Gardens, Florida as Jackson State barely pulled out a narrow 7-6 victory on September 5. Following a 34-7 trouncing of NCAA Division II Fort Valley State (9/11), the Rattlers would fall 38-17 at FBS South Florida (9/18) before bouncing back to shutout out Alabama State (10/2) 28-0 in Tallahassee, Florida.
Most recently they shutdown South Carolina State (10/9) team by a 30-7 score – a club that the Bulldogs narrowly defeated 42-41 in the season opener.
