IBRAHIM RACKS UP COSIDA ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT WHILE APPROACHING 1,000-YARDS
Junior wide receiver
Abdul-Fatai Ibrahim (Miramar, Fla.) has been one of the most inspirational stories as he has gone from a freshman tryout and walk-on player to a six-time All-American and one of the top receivers in the country.
Well, he just keeps getting it done – and has added some hardware to the mantle from the academic side of things. On Thursday, November 18 he became just the eighth Bulldog in school history, and fifth football player, to be named a College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District selection. He is also one of just two individuals at the Division I level to earn that honor from a Historically Black College or University (HBCU).
His 3.52 Grade Point Average (GPA) in Biology paired with a season that has him just 107 yards shy of his second career 1,000-yard season helped net him this honor and puts him in the running for Academic All-America recognition. We'll find that out on December 15.
SENIOR DAY IS BACK AS BULLDOGS SET TO HONOR 23 INDIVIDUALS
The Spring 2021 season saw a lot of changes and one of those was no Senior Day to go along with no home game at Louis Crews Stadium.

QUARLES POUNDING TOWARD 1,000 YARDS WHILE LEADING SWAC IN GROUND YARDAGE AND TDS
Its might over matter and the Bulldog's "Mighty Mite" is making sure opposing defenses don't matter. Through nine games he has amassed 918 yards and 10 touchdowns – both good for the lead in the SWAC. On top of that he is four TDs and 89 yards ahead of the next closest players, both of whom have 10 games under their belts.
He comes into the final weekend needing just 72 yards to hit the magic number of a 1,000-yard season and is one of just three non-quarterbacks with double-digit touchdowns in the league this year. One is his teammate
senior wide receiver
Dee Anderson (Dallas, Texas) with 11 receiving scores and the other is Jackson State's Malachi Wideman.
BULLDOGS STILL SHOWING OUT AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL
Already leading the SWAC in points per game at 36.3 points, a whopping six points better than the next closest team, A&M is hitting at the
national level with a No. 4 ranking in the country in passing offense (355.8).
It's far from the only impressive rankings as the Bulldogs are currently seventh in total offense (473.3), 11
th in scoring offense, 13
th in passing efficiency (152.8), 16
th in yards per completion (13.57), as well as 21
st in red zone offense (.878).
Individually, graduate quarterback
Aqeel Glass (St. Louis, Mo.) ranks in the Top-10 in six categories, including No. 4 in total points responsible for per game (21.1), No. 5 in passing yards per game (346.4), passing touchdowns (30) and passing yards (3,118), No. 6 in total points responsible for (190), No. 7 in total offense (337.6) and No. 9 in and completions per game (25.89).
Meanwhile, Anderson is fourth in total receiving touchdowns with 11 while Ibrahim is eighth in receiving yards at 99.2, 10
th in receptions per game at 6.7 and is 11
th in receiving yards. Quarles makes sure the ground game is well represented as he is also eighth in rushing yards per game at 102.0, 15
th in rushing yards (918) and 17
th in rushing touchdowns (10).
BULLDOGS COME FROM BEHIND TO TOP TEXAS SOUTHERN 52-49
For this one, you have to read about it for yourself to do it justice – check out the recap
here.
The main story lines from this one – Glass broke his own single game NCAA Division I Era passing record with 462 touchdowns and five touchdowns with no picks. Those five TD strikes also moved him to 103 for his career (with four more on the ground) while his air yardage brought his career total to 11,686 in 46 career games.
WATCH ME NOW (SEASON LONG EDITION)
With the majority of this spring's top performers back in the fold for Fall 2021, all eyes are on A&M. Glass headlines those in the spotlight as he has been named to the Walter Payton Award Watch List representing the top player at the Football Championship Subdivision, the Deacon Jones Watch List as the top player at an HBCU and both the Reese's Senior Bowl and College Football Performance Awards (CFPA).
He is joined by junior wide receiver
Abdul-Fatai Ibrahim (Miramar, Fla.) on the Deacon Jones and has also been named a BOXTOROW Preseason All-American and SWAC Preseason Player of the Year. Those pale in comparison, however, to being the first player selected to play in the inaugural HBCU Legacy Bowl, a new postseason All-Star game featuring the top 100 HBCU National Football League (NFL) draft eligible players.
On top of those honors, Glass was named Offensive Most Valuable Player of the Magic City Classic while graduate linebacker
Armoni Holloway (Pinson, Ala.) claimed Defensive MVP with impressive performances.
Dee Anderson earned his first SWAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week honor on November 8 and Glass followed with his second a week later.
Additionally, Ibrahim has now added CoSIDA Academic All-District honors with the opportunity to add a Academic All-America midway through December.
ABOUT THE ARKANSAS-PINE BLUFF GOLDEN LIONS
Coming off a runner-up finish to the Bulldogs in the Spring 2021 SWAC Championship, Arkansas-Pine Bluff has not had the season they would have hoped for, coming into the finale with a 2-8 overall record and 1-6 mark in league play.
Following an opening week 34-16 win over NCAA Division II Lane they then dropped seven straight, falling to Central Arkansas (45-23 on Sept. 18), Alcorn State (39-38 on Sept. 23), Prairie View (27-17 on Sept. 30), Alabama State (35-15 on Oct. 9), Southern (34-7 on Oct. 16), Arkansas (45-3 on Oct. 23) and Texas Southern (59-17 on Oct. 30). They would finally break that skein with a 33-26 victory vs. Grambling on November 6 before falling 37-7 vs. Florida A&M last week.
LET'S GET SERIE-OUS
Dating back to November 21, 1998, the Bulldogs hold a commanding 17-7 series lead over Arkansas-Pine Bluff since joining the NCAA Division I ranks at the turn of this century.
The Bulldogs have won five of the last six meetings, most recently the instant classic that was the 40-33 SWAC Championship victory on May 1, 2021. They suffered a 52-34 loss on September 7, 2019 but prior to that won four in a row from September 26, 2015 through November 3, 2018.
