HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Alabama A&M Athletics recognized the accomplishments of 10 current or former student-athletes on Thursday, December 9 in advance of them being presented with their degrees on Friday, December 10.
This year's graduates represent women's track & field (3), baseball (2), women's basketball (2), football (1), softball (1) and women's tennis.
Earning degrees from women's track & field were
Diamond Griffin (Biology),
Danice Loney (Biology) and
Sabria Wooten (Animal Biology Science) and
Elexis Evans (Liberal Studies w/Concentration in Sports Management) and
Lazurea Saunders (Psychology) of women's basketball.
Baseball added a pair in
Brock Mitchell (Political Science) and
Otis Smith (Political Science) while
Michael Makins (Visual Arts),
Ariel McAtee (Special Education) and
India Woods (Sports Management) represented football, softball and women's tennis, respectively.
Each individual was celebrated the night before graduation as the Department and Director of Athletics
Bryan Hicks presented them with their graduation stoles, medallions and a frame for their degree during an evening at the Huntsville Country Club.
Alabama A&M University, located in Huntsville, Alabama, currently offers 16 sports as well as cheerleading and is a member of NCAA Division I. The Bulldogs have more than 340 student-athletes competing for championships at the national, regional and conference level with each program being members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
