BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Eight Top-10 finishes anchored Alabama A&M men's indoor track & field's regular season finale as they excelled at the Samford Open on Saturday, February 13.
Sophomore
Kyle Graham (Mobile, Ala.) led the way as he placed 6-of-32 in the 400-meters with a time of 50.43 while senior
Tyrese McPhatter (Columbus, Ga.) was 7-of-29 in the 60-meters (7.069) and 17-of-37 in the 200-meters (23.23).
Sophomore
Myles McCoy (Albany, Ga.) posted a 7-of-23 finish in the 60-meter hurdles, recording a finals time of 8.45 after qualifying with a mark of 8.44. Senior
Donald Weakley (Nashville, Tenn.) notched an 8-of-29 outing in the 60-meters, posting a time of 7.070 and freshman
Shawn Guerrier (Miami, Fla.) came in 9-of-37 in the 200-meters (22.75).
Senior
Christian Bryant (Newbern, Ala.) held things down on the field side of things, delivering a pair of Top-10 finishes. He was 8-of-18 in the weight throw (14.71m) and 9-of-19 in the shot put (13.11m) while senior
Artrayvious Whelchel (Montgomery, Ala.) was 10-of-32 in the 400-meters with a time of 52.15. He also added a 19-of-37 finish in the 200-meters (23.24) to round out A&M's top performers.
With the regular season completed, the Bulldogs return to the Birmingham CrossPlex next week for the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Indoor Championships. Those will be held on Thursday, February 18 and Friday, February 19.
