STARKVILLE, Miss. – Alabama A&M men's track & field wrapped up the Mississippi State Al Schmidt Bulldog Relays with a handful of performances on Saturday, March 27.
Leading the way for the Bulldogs was sophomore
Brandon McLaren (Clifton, Hanover, Jamaica) with a 12-of-24 finish in the long jump (6.76m) and an 11-of-15 outing in the javelin, hitting a distance of 50.83-meters in the latter.
Senior
Donald Weakley (Nashville, Tenn.) produced a pair of strong performances in a pair of sprints, finishing 18-of-38 in the 100-meters (10.79) and 19-of-35 in the 200-meters (21.90) while fellow senior
Tyrese McPhatter (Columbus, Ga.) was right there with him. McPhatter placed 19
th in the 100-metes with a time o 10.80 and was 21
st in the 200-meters (21.96) to round out the top performers.
The Bulldogs are back in action next week when they travel an hour and a half south for the UAB Spring Invitational. That meet will be from April 2-3 in Birmingham, Alabama.
