BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – For the second time this season, Alabama A&M senior goalkeeper
Jodi Medina (Coral Springs, Fla.) has earned Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week as announced by the league on Wednesday, March 31.
Medina delivered another outstanding week as she posted two more 1-0 shutouts while making 10 saves on 25 shots faced.
Opening the week at Texas Southern (3/26) she faced 15 shots and made four saves in 90 minutes to lockdown her second shutout of the season before delivering an even more impressive performance at Prairie View A&M (3/28).
In that one Medina made six saves, including five with the game deadlocked at 0-0 until the 76th minute, while facing 10 shots. That would be the Bulldogs third straight 1-0 victory and her third of the season as they both improved to 4-3 on the year. This is her second such recognition of 2021 following her first honor on March 13.
Alabama A&M and Medina is back in action for their season finale on Friday, April 2 as they travel to rival Alabama State. Game time is set for 6 p.m. in Montgomery, Alabama.
