GREENSBORO, N.C. – Alabama A&M men's and women's outdoor track & field delivered five top five efforts as they competed at the N.C. A&T Aggie Classic on Saturday, April 24.
 
Headlining that effort was senior Akia Slaughter (Smyrna, Ga.) who finished 2-of-23 in the 200-meters with a time of 24.30 and 4-of-37 in the 100-meters at 12.20. She was joined by junior Danielle Chambers (Atlanta, Ga.) at seventh in the 200-meters (25.15) while senior Terion Davis (Lakeland, Fla.) was 9-of-32 in the 400-meters at 58.23.
 
Senior Sophia Madison (Pensacola, Fla.) rounded out the top five outings as she tied for 6-of-11 in the high jump (1.45m) and was 12-of-22 in the javelin at 26.89-meters. Senior Diamond Griffin (Miami, Fla.) added a 14-of-33 finish in the 800-meters (2:23.66) and graduate Camiya Knight (Birmingham, Ala.) was 17-of-32 in the 400-meters with a time of 1:00.29. Junior Precious Haynes (Richmond, Calif.) rounded out the top performers for the women as she placed 21-of-37 in the 100-meters (12.99).
 
For the men, who sent just four competitors and saw action in seven events, were led by senior Donald Weakley (Nashville, Tenn.) who placed 12-of-32 in the 100-meters with a time of 11.04 and was 12-of-22 in the 200-meters at 22.51. Sophomore Kyle Graham (Mobile, Ala.) capped off the weekend with a 14-of-24 finish in the 400-meters, crossing the line in 51.31.

Alabama A&M men's track & field, pending another meet being scheduled, has closed out the 2021 campaign while the women will head to the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Championships from May 6-8. Those will be held on the campus of Prairie View A&M in Prairie View, Texas.
