BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama A&M men's and women's track & field ran a light schedule on Day 1 of the UAB Spring Invitational as a total of seven student-athletes competed in five events on Friday, April 2 in advance of a full slate tomorrow.
Senior
Sabria Wooten (Dallas, Ga.) delivered the top performance on the day as she finished 21-of-40 in the 1,500-meters with a personal best of 4:58.10.
"I am very happy with the way I have been performing this outdoor season," said Wooten. "It feels really good to know that all of my hard work and dedication to training is paying off. I feel like my race was very comfortable and relaxed and I am very confident that I will be able to do better in future races."
She was joined by junior
Jayla Neal (Atlanta, Ga.) with an 8-of-13 finish in the triple jump (10.83m) while junior
Demetrius Hurry II (Foley, Ala.) posted the best performance for the men. He would notch an 8-of-13 outing in the shot put, hitting a mark of 12.29-meters.
Alabama A&M is back in action in full force tomorrow, Saturday, April 3 with a full slate of events beginning at 9 a.m.
