HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – With the close of the 2020-21 campaign, the Alabama A&M Sports Information Office is producing a Season in Review for each of the program's 14 sports that competed during the year.
That series will begin with the fall season before progressing to the winter and spring campaigns. Each week reviews will be released on Mondays and Wednesdays until concluding with the final spring sport on Wednesday, July 28 and a Department Season in Review on Monday, August 2.
Today we take a look back at the 2020-21 Women's Indoor Track & Field season.

2020-21 Season in Review
- Competed in five meets on the season, finishing fifth at SWAC Championships (2/25) with 49 points.
- Saw action at KMS Invitational (1/24), KMS Open (1/31), Samford Invitational (2/12), Samford Open (2/13) and SWAC Championships, all at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
- League championships were delayed by a week due to severe winter weather.
- Delivered seven individual All-SWAC honorees and an individual league champion.
Individual Achievements/Honors
- Danice Loney won second straight SWAC Pole Vault Championship, placing 1-of-6 with a season-high mark of 3.61-meters.
- That championship would be one of three first place finishes in the pole vault during the season for Loney, including 1-of-12 (3.50m) and 1-of-17 (3.50m) at the KMS Invitational (1/24) and KMS Open (1/31), respectively
- Sabria Wooten delivered an impressive performance at SWAC Championships, earning three All-SWAC honors. Finished 2-of-14 in 3,000-meters (10:53.47), 3-of-8 in 5,000-meters (19:27.66) and 3-of-5 in Distance Medley Relay (13:16.30). Just missed a fourth with a 4-of-8 finish in the mile (5:28.07).
- Diamond Griffin, Aneisha Ingram and Fabiona Jackson-Jenkins also earned All-SWAC recognition in the DMR.
- Ingram also placed 5-of-8 in the mile (5:34.26) and 6-of-14 in the 3,000-meters (11:37.55) at league championships and Jackson-Jenkins was 8-of-23 in 400-meters (58.06).
- Loney earned SWAC Field Athlete of the Week on January 28 and February 5 following first two first-place finishes. Kaan Oliver added Track Athlete of the Week on January 28 following her first collegiate performance in which she placed 24-of-51 in the 200-meters (27.71) and 17-of-24 in the 60-meter Hurdles (11.29).
