Alabama A&M Kicks Off SWAC Schedule at Arkansas-Pine Bluff Following Two Week Layoff

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Following a two-week layoff, Alabama A&M (2-8, 0-0 SWAC) women's basketball returns to action as they open Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play at Arkansas-Pine Bluff (4-6, 0-0 SWAC) on Monday, January 3. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

A&M is coming off of a last second 65-63 win over Conference USA member Florida Atlantic (12/20) and a cancellation at Nicholls State (12/29) while UAPB has played just once in 19 days. That one was an 86-74 defeat at the hands of Southern Methodist (12/28).

The Bulldogs hold a 23-9 advantage in the all-time series based upon available records dating back to a narrow 58-56 victory on January 8, 2007 in Pine Bluff. That would be the first of four straight meetings that A&M would claim, a stretch matched only by eight consecutive wins from February 6, 2010 through January 11, 2014. In those 31 meetings the Golden Lions have only ever won two in a row and come in having lost the last six dating to January 14, 2019.

Fans will be able to follow all of the action with live stats and live video for the game with full coverage of all the action also being available on www.AAMUSports.com, the official online home of Alabama A&M Athletics, following the final horn.
