Alabama A&M Set To Take On UT-Southern For First Time In More Than A Decade

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Alabama A&M (0-5, 0-0 SWAC) men's basketball will continue to break in the brand new, State-of-the-Art, 6,000-seat Event Center as they take on UT-Southern (6-1, 3-0 MSC) in a Black Friday special on November 25. Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m.

A&M comes in following an impressive outing against Louisiana Tech in the Event Center opener yesterday, a game in which they fell 80-75 but rallied to within three late in the game. The Firehawks have been impressive in their own right as they have opened at 6-1 and 3-0 in the Mid-South Conference of the NAIA. That has included four straight wins, those coming over Oakwood (83-79 on 11/12), Campbellsville (92-52 on 11/17), Lindsey Wilson (76-50 on 11/19) and Cumberland (73-64 on 11/22).

ALL-TIME SERIES
The series against UT-Southern, formerly Martin Methodist, spans just two games but goes back to the 2009-10 campaign. That year the Bulldogs notched a 76-55 victory on November 21, 2009 before escaping with a 75-70 decision two years later on December 4, 2010. Both of those meetings came in Huntsville at Elmore Gymnasium while this one will be the first in the Event Center.
