Birmingham Severe Weather
The opening day of the 2022 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships was largely postponed to Day 2 as a result of impending severe weather.

SWAC Indoor Championships Affected By Weather; Majority of Events To Run on Second Day

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – With severe weather moving through the State of Alabama, the 2022 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships in Birmingham have been largely postponed until the second day of competition on Friday, February 18 as announced by the league on Thursday, February 17.
 
Prior to the opening day being shut down, the Alabama A&M women's program competed in the 3,000-meters with freshman Taylor Wingo (D'Iberville, Miss.) finishing 11-of-18 (11:33.84) and junior Aneisha Ingram placing 15th with a time of 11:51.70.
 
Based upon the adjusted schedule, all other events will now be run tomorrow beginning at 8:30 a.m. and concluding with the final event at 4:30 p.m.
 
Fans can still follow the day's activities through the live results link and can tune in to the live broadcast on the on the SWAC Digital Network. Additionally, heat sheets are available on www.AAMUSports.com which will have full recaps following the conclusion of the final day of the meet.
