First-Ever SWAC Florida Swing Up Next as Alabama A&M Women's Basketball Heads To Bethune-Cookman

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Alabama A&M (10-13, 7-5 SWAC) women's basketball will make their first trip to the State of Florida to play Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) games as they take on the league's two newest members, beginning with Bethune-Cookman (5-17, 4-9 SWAC) on Saturday, February 19. Game time is set for 1 p.m. (CST).
 
A&M comes in having won their last two, defeating Mississippi Valley State (2/12) by a 53-47 score and Arkansas-Pine Bluff (2/14) 56-50 while B-CU has won two of their last three. After knocking off Texas Southern (2/7) 71-67 and hammering Alcorn State (2/12), the Wildcats dropped an 83-64 decision to league-leading Jackson State (2/14) in their most recent outing.
 
The meeting will be the just the second between the teams in more than 17 years and only the fourth such encounter on record. Following a 58-38 victory by the Bulldogs in Elmore Gymnasium on January 31, the all-time series is now tied at 2-2. The first meeting of that series was an 89-73 A&M victory on December 5, 1998. Following that B-CU notched a 73-68 victory on January 5, 2000 and 71-59 on December 14, 2004.
