BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – With just seven individuals competing on Day 1 of the Hilltopper Relays, Alabama A&M men's and women's track & field delivered several impressive finishes on Friday, April 1.
Junior
Brandon McLaren (Clifton, Hanover, Jamaica) anchored those performances as he won the long jump over 29 other competitors, notching a distance of 6.92-meters.
He would be joined on the men's side by junior
Isaiah McCaulley (Huntsville, Ala.) and senior
Demetrius Hurry II (Foley, Ala.) with strong outings in the hammer. Hurry placed 13-of-24 with a distance of 44.06-meters with McCaulley right behind him in 14
th at 43.79-meters.
For the women, sophomore
Briana Cox (Miami, Fla.) delivered in a pair of events in field action. She produced an 11-of-32 finish in the hammer, hitting a mark of 45.66-meters, and was 12-of-27 in the shot put at 11.30-meters.
The Bulldogs get into full swing tomorrow, Saturday, April 2 as 20 total student-athletes will compete on the final day of the Hilltopper Relays hosted by Western Kentucky.
