NASHVILLE, Tenn. – With just five individuals competing on Day 1 of the Music City Challenge, Alabama A&M men's and women's track & field delivered several strong finishes on Friday, April 29.
Junior
Brandon McLaren (Clifton, Hanover, Jamaica) anchored those performances as he placed second in the javelin notching a distance of 55.61-meters.
He would be joined on the men's side by junior
Nicholas Powell (Montgomery, Ala.) who placed 12-of-28 in the 200-meters stopping the clock at 21.85.
For the women, freshman Ta'Nya Burnett (West Memphis, Ark.) produced a 10-of-23 finish in the long jump, hitting a mark of 5.20-meters.
The Bulldogs get into full swing tomorrow, Saturday, April 30 as 14 total student-athletes will compete on the final day of the Music City Challenge hosted by Vanderbilt.
