BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama A&M track & field combined to produce five Top-10 performances on the final day of the UAB Green and Gold Invitational on Saturday, April 9. As a team, the men finished 13-of-15 while the women were 17-of-18.
Headlining that group was junior
Brandon McLaren (Clifton, Hanover, Jamaica) who placed 4-of-20 in the 110-meter hurdles (14.99) and was joined by senior
Keyshawn Johnson with a 6-of-37 outing in the 400-meters (50.42). Freshman
Tyler Pitts added a 7-of-16 finish in the 400-meter hurdles at 56.86 and junior
Kyle Graham (Mobile, Ala.) was 15
th in the 400-meters (51.22).
Senior
Shanique Masters (St. Catherine, Jamaica) anchored the performances for the women as she finished 6-of-34 in the 800-meters (2:19.00) while freshman
De'Ajene Johnson (Detroit, Mich.) authored a pair of strong outings.
She placed 10-of-35 in the 400-meters with a time of 1:00.60 and was 13
th in the 800-meters a 2:25.42. Junior
Aneisha Ingram (Frankfield, Jamaica) rounded things out as she finished 14
th in the latter event with a mark of 2:26.97.
The Bulldogs are now off until they head to the Outdoor Music City Challenge hosted by Vanderbilt from April 29-30 in Nashville, Tennessee.
