BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – All it took was just one season for graduate outfielder
Tim Dixon (Debary, Fla.) to make his mark on the program as he has been named to the All-Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Second-Team as announced by the league on Tuesday, May 24.
Dixon transferred from the University of Arkansas-Little Rock and became just the seventh individual to earn All-SWAC honors as an outfielder, the first since 2014 (Andrew Utterback) and is the 10
th player named to the Second-Team.
TIM DIXON – SECOND-TEAM OUTFIELDER
Dixon delivered a strong campaign starting all 49 games and finishing with an average of .280 and a .484 slugging percentage with 34 runs, six home runs, 11 doubles, four triples and 32 RBIs.
He is currently ninth in the SWAC in triples and led the Bulldogs this season in runs, RBIs, triples, doubles and walks.
In one of his best outings in the Maroon and White he would deliver a 2-for-4 day, five RBIs, a double and a triple against Milwaukee (2/18) and also went 3-for-5 with three RBIs, a home run and scored two runs in an 11-9 victory over UAB (3/5). He delivered again against Florida A&M (4/2) as he notched three RBIs, a home run and two runs.
Dixon's selection is the first for the Bulldogs since 2019 as Johnathon Smith was named to the First-Team as a second base man.
