HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Alabama A&M men's and women's track & field will both head to the State of Texas in an effort to chase down titles at the 2022 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Championships. This year's championships will be hosted by Prairie View in Prairie View, Texas.
The Bulldogs will send 17 individuals to compete in 16 total events over the three days, with the men sending nine in 10 events and the women eight individuals in six events. For the men, this will be their first appearance at the Championships since placing fifth in 2018.
Action will get underway bright and early on Thursday, May 5 when junior
Brandon McLaren (Clifton, Hanover, Jamaica) goes in the javelin at 8:30 a.m. with Day 2 getting underway with sophomore
Briana Cox (Miami, Fla.) competing in the shotput at 12 p.m.
Day 3 on Saturday, May 7 will consist primarily of finals but will see the Bulldogs compete in the discus to begin the day at 11:30 a.m. and close the meet with the men's 4x400 Relay at 4 p.m.
