TEMPE, Ariz. –Alabama A&M men's tennis handled business in the classroom while performing on the court as five members were named to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete Team as announced by that organization on Tuesday, July 12.
Earning those honors for the Bulldogs were senior
Rodrigo Arana Rios (Playa Del Carmen, Mexico), senior
Natiphat Mulada (Korat, Thailand),
German Ruiz Crespo (Mollina, Spain) and freshmen
Freddie Lawrence and
Vence Ntcha.
To become an ITA Scholar-Athlete an individual must maintain at least a 3.5 Grade Point Average during the current academic year and be a full member of the program.
This year makes it four straight years that A&M has earned ITA All-Academic Team honors as a unit. It is also the fifth year in program history that the Bulldogs have had at least one selection, with the first coming in 2012-13.
Arana Rios has earned a spot on the team in each of the four years with Mulada and Ruiz Crespo earning their second award.
