HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Coming off of a program record nine shutouts a season ago, Alabama A&M (2-1, 0-0 SWAC) has picked up right where they left off with back-to-back blankings and will try to extend that stretch in a rematch with Jacksonville (0-0-1, 0-0-0 ASUN) on Sunday, August 28. Kickoff is slated bright and early at 11 a.m. at Bulldog Field.
 
A&M has registered consecutive 1-0 shutouts, both with late goals in the 79th minute or later, in victories over in-state foes Troy (8/22) and Jacksonville State (8/26). 
 
Meanwhile, Jacksonville (Dolphin variety), comes in with only one official contest, that being a 2-2 deadlock with Coastal Carolina on August 18. They played until the 65th minute against Middle Tennessee on August 21 and were tied 2-2 before the game was declared a no contest due to severe weather. On top of that, they were scheduled to face Alabama State this past Friday, only to see that outing cancelled.
 
One of the newest series in the history of Bulldog women's soccer, the teams have met just once with that coming last year. In that one JU delivered a 4-0 decision in Jacksonville on September 5, 2021 giving them the 1-0 lead all-time.
