BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama A&M University sophomore goalkeeper Adriana Durango has been named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
The West Palm Beach, Florida, native anchored the Bulldogs' defensive effort during a 1-0 victory over Alabama State on Sunday, Oct. 4. Durango played all 90 minutes in goal, recording one save while helping Alabama A&M secure its second shutout of the season.
Durango's performance helped the Bulldogs hold Alabama State scoreless as AAMU earned its first SWAC victory of the season. The Bulldogs limited the Hornets to just five shots, including one shot on goal, while earning their first conference win of the 2026 campaign.
The weekly honor marks Durango's second SWAC weekly award of the season. She previously earned SWAC Defensive Player of the Week honors on Sept. 15 after recording eight saves in a 1-1 draw against East Texas A&M.
Through the opening portion of conference play, Durango has continued to provide a steady presence between the posts for Alabama A&M. The sophomore currently ranks among the Bulldogs' leaders in goalkeeping statistics while helping AAMU post a 3-4-3 overall record and 1-0-1 mark in SWAC play.
Durango and the Bulldogs return to action Sunday, Oct. 11, hosting Texas Southern at 1 p.m. at the Bulldog Soccer Field. The contest will serve as Alabama A&M's Cancer Awareness Game.
