HUNTSVILLE, Ala. __Â The Alabama A&M women's basketball program heads into the final three-game stretch of the regular season this weekend, as they travel to Montgomery to face rival Alabama State, scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. tip inside the Dunn-Oliver Acadome.

The Bulldogs (13-12, 11-4 SWAC) are coming of wins against Bethune-Cookman (Feb. 18) and Florida A&M (Feb. 20) for the final two home games of the season, securing the first undefeated conference home record since moving to Division I.

A&M remains one of the premier defensive teams in the league, currently second in scoring defense at 61.2 points allowed and third in opponent field goal percentage per game (.411). Offensively, both
Toni Grace (Fishers, Ind.) and
Amani Free (Clay, N.Y.) are in the top-15 in scoring at 12.2 and 12.0 points per contest.

The matchup contains two of the top three teams in the SWAC, as both teams are currently tied for second in the standings. When the two programs last met, the Bulldogs took a 60-46 win over the Hornets in the first Bridge Builder Classic, held inside the Mitchell Center in Mobile. Free led with a game-high 17 points and 10 rebounds in the contest, while Grace added 14 in the win.

Alabama State (14-12, 11-4 SWAC) come into the rivalry matchup on a five-game winning streak and are 9-1 on the year inside the Dunn-Oliver Acadome. In the last game, ASU won a 74-71 contest over Bethune-Cookman in three overtimes.

The Hornets boast the fourth best scoring offense in the league at 62.9 points per game, along with having three double figure scorers on the year, led by reigning SWAC Player of the Week Ayana Emmanuel at 17.0 points, while Shmya Ward and Jayla Crawford average 16.3 and 14.8 points per contest respectively. All three rank among the top-10 in the conference, with Emmanuel leading the league.
