OXFORD, Miss. __Â In their second outdoor meet of the season, Alabama A&M had a strong showing, with ten student-athletes earning top ten finishes on day one at the Ole Miss Classic on Friday.

Three of the four top finishes on the women's side were recorded in the 200-meter dash, as
Victoya Smith finished fourth with a time of 24.68, followed by teammates
Laila Gaynor at 24.69 and
Olivia Andrews at 25.28, good for fifth and sixth place respectively in the event.

Meanwhile,
Ta'Nya Burnett also finished in the top ten in the long jump event, placing seventh with a distance of 5.36 meters.
On the men's side,
Brandon McLaren took home second place in the javelin throw at 61.57 meters, while
Isaiah McCaulley finished seventh in the hammer at 51.38 meters.

A pair of Bulldogs finished strong in the long jump, with
Lance Powell and
Charlie Harper both at 6.76 meters, good for seventh and eighth, while
Talil Atkins and
Keyshawn Johnson took home sixth and ninth in the 200-meter event with times of 21.67 and 21.89 respectively.
