JACKSON, Miss. – Alabama A&M men's golf finished in fifth place at the SWAC Golf Championships in Jackson, Mississippi, held at The Refuge over the last three days. The team shot 37-over 901 for the tournament.
Niall Bagnall led the Bulldogs over the span of play, moving up one spot on the final day and finishing tied for eighth to record the top-10 finish. The freshman shot 6-over 222 through three rounds including back-to-back rounds of 73 over the final two days.
Felipe Gomez Lopez was second for A&M on the individual leaderboards, finishing 11th overall with a total of 7-over 223. The junior fell four spots on the Wednesday with a 3-over 75.
Meanwhile,
Jason Johnson finished 18th with a 10-over 226, as the grad student moved up eight spots on the final day with a 1-over par round three, followed by
Kim Byeongkwan who finished tied for 24th with a 14-over 230 over the three-day tournament.
The men's golf team now turns its attention to their final tournament of the year with the 2023 PGA Works Collegiate Championship in Birmingham, on May 8-10.
