HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Alabama A&M baseball will begin a 10-game road stretch this weekend starting on Friday afternoon as they head to Itta Bena, Mississippi to take on Southwestern Athletic Conference opponent Mississippi Valley State in a weekend series at Magnolia Field.
Â
The series will begin Friday at 2 p.m., followed by another 2 p.m. start for game two on Saturday, before the series concludes with a 1 p.m. finale on Sunday afternoon. The two teams are separated by three games in the loss column of the SWAC East Standings, as the Bulldogs are looking to catch Jackson State to gain a bid to the conference tournament.
Â
A&M (12-22, 3-13 SWAC) will look to end its two-game losing streaking following losses following the past weekend series to Jackson State. This is the first of two series over the next month that the programs will face each other.Â
Â
Meanwhile, Mississippi Valley State (10-30, 2-16 SWAC) also enters the weekend with a losing streak of nine games, after being swept by Alabama State, Bethune Cookman and Florida A&M.
Â
The Bulldogs have won eight of the last 10 meetings in the series history and have won three straight against the Delta Devils. Before a pair of road losses last season, A&M had won 16 consecutive matchups.
