HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Alabama A&M University track and field head coach Andrew Murphy has announced the 2024 schedule for both indoor and outdoor seasons.

"As 2024 kicks off, we look forward to building upon the standard of excellence that has already been instilled in our student-athletes. With 39 newcomers our expectation is to improve on the 18 school records broken during the 2023 calendar year," Murphy said.

AAMU competed in one meet last year and resumes its indoor schedule on Friday and Saturday in the Birmingham Crossplex. The UAB Blazer Invitational will be the first event of 2024 for the Bulldogs, with the meet being contested on Friday, followed by the UAB Vulcan Invitational on Saturday.
 
The Bulldogs will hit the road for Vanderbilt's Invitational in Nashville, Tenn. on Jan. 19-20, before sending teams to either the South Carolina Invitational on Feb. 2-3 or South Alabama's Jaguar Invitational in Mobile on Feb. 4.
 
Postseason will begin with the SWAC Indoor Championship from Feb. 17-18 in Birmingham. The SWAC Championships will give the opportunity for athletes to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships, which will be held in Boston, Mass. on March 8-9.
 
The outdoor season opens with Georgia Tech's Yellow Jacket Invitational on March 15-16. AAMU will then split for the MSU Bulldogs relays hosted by Mississippi State on March. 22-23. and the UAB Spring Invite on March. 30. The squads travel to Knoxville, Tenn. for the Tennessee Invite on April. 4-6.  The Troy Invitational will follow on April. 12-13 in Troy, Ala., with the regular season concluding at the Music City Challenge in Nashville on April. 26-27.
 
The outdoor postseason concludes with the SWAC Outdoor Championships on May 2-4 in Baton Rouge, La.
