Graham’s Second-Place Finish Highlights Performances at UAB Vulcan Invite

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Joshua Graham just missed the top spot in the triple jump to finish second, highlighting the performances for the Alabama A&M University men's and women's indoor track and field teams at the UAB Vulcan Invitational on Saturday at the Birmingham Crossplex.

"It's a great time to be a bulldog!," Alabama A&M track & field head coach Andrew Murphy said. "Once again as our student athletes have stepped up to better their best. Our team saw many personal best performances, led by Joshua Graham, who reset the triple jump record."
 
Graham's second-place finish highlighted several top performances, including a third-place finish by Milahna Harden in the long jump.
 
WOMEN'S TRACK EVENTS
  • De'Anjene Johnson placed 11th in the 600m, with a time of 1:43.51
  • The 4x400m relay team finished eighth, logging a time of 3:58.78
WOMEN'S FIELD EVENTS
  • Miiahna Harden finished third in the long jump, with a leap of 5.71m
  • Three members finished inside the top 10 in the triple jump
  • Amber Jamison placed sixth (11.12m), Ta'Nya Burnett was eighth (10.98m) and Alliyah Jones 10th (10.91m)
  • In the weight throw, Briana Cox claimed seventh at 15.76m
MEN'S TRACK EVENTS
  • Keyshawn Johnson just missed the third spot as he claimed fourth in the 400m, with a time of 50.46
  • Isaac Jackson recorded a time of 51.63 and placed 10th in the 400m
  • In the 300m, Donovan Horne claimed ninth, with a time of 35.56
  • The 4x400m relay team just missed third as the Bulldogs finished fourth, with a time of 3:19.20
MEN'S FIELD EVENTS
  • Joshua Graham just missed out on the top spot in the triple jump, finishing second at 15.15m
  • Lance Powell added a jump of 13.99m to place seventh in the triple jump
  • Bruce Davis finished seventh in the shot put, with a toss of 14.88m
  • In the long jump, Justin Walker grabbed a seventh-place finish at 7.00m
  • Ezekiel Salaman placed eighth in the weight throw, with a toss of 15.73m
