HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | The Alabama A&M University women's basketball team returns to action after a nearly two-week hiatus as the Bulldogs visit Texas Southern in a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) matchup on Saturday. Tip-off against the Tigers is set for 12 p.m. from the H&PE arena and streamed on HBCU GO.
Alabama A&M (8-9 overall, 3-2 SWAC) have won three of its last four games after defeating rival Alabama State, 66-49, in the Bridge Builder Classic on Jan.15. Meanwhile, Texas Southern (3-14, 2-4) is riding a three-game skid, after dropping a 75-50 road decision to Jackson State on Monday.

Amiah Simmons led the Bulldogs in scoring with 17 points each. Green shot 6-of-15 from the field, along with five steals, four boards and four assists. Simmons shot 6-of-14, with seven rebounds and two steals as the Bulldogs shot 37.3 percent from the field and scored 38 points in the paint.
Andriana Avent recorded a game-high 23 points and Micah Gray added 11 as TSU shot 35 percent from the field.

Victoria Dixon posted a game-high 16 points as the Bulldogs secured a 66-49 victory over Alabama State in the Bridge Builder Classic.
Dixon shot 6-of-9 from the floor and 6-of-9 from the foul line to pace the Bulldogs.
Amiah Simmons registered 15 points, five boards, two steals and one assist, while
Alisha Wilson posted her third double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 boards, and also added a team-high three blocked shots and two assists as the Bulldogs shot 40 percent (22-of-55) from the field.
LAST TIME OUT - TEXAS SOUTHERN
Taniya Lawson posted a team-high 14 points, while Jaida Belton chipped in 11 as Texas Southern fell to Jackson State, 75-50, on Monday.
The Tigers, despite getting 36 points in the paint and 30 bench points, shot 31.4 percent from the field and 76.5 percent from the charity stripe in the road loss.
