MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The Alabama A&M University women's tennis team blanked Grambling State, 4-0, to pick up its first win of the season on Saturday morning during a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) match at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center.
Alabama A&M (1-4 overall, 1-1 SWAC) got into the win column by earning the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3.
The team of
Yana Dhamija and
Alicia Owegi defeated Ekaterina Dziova and Takudzwa Masisire, 6-1, at No. 2 and the tea of
Hannah Nagpall and
Sofia Sotelo Raya won by default at No. 3.
In singles action,
Ariadna Ondo Cerezo won by default at No.6 and Raya blanked Leah Bryant, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 6 as AAMU grabbed a 3-0 advantage. Dhamija completed the sweep at No. 2, defeating Mawisire, 6-1, 6-2.
