MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Serena Herbranson and
Allyson Riches each recorded a pair of hits as the Alabama A&M University softball team closed out the HBCU Celebration Classic with a 6-0 loss to Grambling State at the Barbara Williams Softball Complex.

Alabama A&M (4-8) picked up victories over the weekend over Alcorn State and Tuskegee.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After a scoreless first two innings, Grambling State broke the tie with a run in the third inning and added two more in the fourth for a 3-0 lead.

The Tigers put the game out of reach with three more runs in the sixth for a 6-0 advantage.

GAME NOTES
- Alabama A&M finished with six hits, five errors and stranded six on base
- Serena Herbanson and Allyson Riches each recorded two hits
- Payton Scott (1-2) took the loss in 3.2 innings as she surrendered three runs (one earned) on six hits, with six strikeouts and one walk
- Cris'Deona Beasley worked 2.1 innings in relief
- Grambling State finished with six runs on nine hits, committed two errors and left eight on base
